Alejandro Vasquez-Hernandez is the Clinical Research Coordinator at the Homeless Health Service, St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney. In this role, he oversees the design, coordination, and implementation of research projects that aim to improve health outcomes for people experiencing homelessness. Alejandro brings over 17 years of experience working with vulnerable communities, both in Australia and internationally, with a focus on health access, oral health, and the impacts of social disadvantage.
He manages all research activities within the service, from protocol development and ethics submissions to data collection, analysis, and reporting; ensuring each project complies with institutional, state, and national research standards. Alejandro plays a central role in maintaining research integrity across multiple concurrent studies, supporting governance processes while embedding meaningful engagement with people who have lived experience of homelessness.
Alejandro’s background includes clinical and academic work across diverse health systems, where he has consistently focused on addressing structural barriers to healthcare.
