The St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney Department of Endocrinology comprises a committed team of medical specialists, nurses, allied health professionals and administrative staff who aim to provide comprehensive endocrine care to people within the hospital and community. All team members in the department are actively involved in clinical research. There are a number of clinical trials conducted by Endocrinologists from St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney.

The Department of Endocrinology provides both inpatient and outpatient care. The Diabetes Service provides multidisciplinary clinics for type 1 diabetes, as well as Complex Diabetes Clinics, Diabetes Assessment Clinics and High Risk Foot Clinics. Other outpatient clinics include the Bone and Calcium Clinic, Osteoporosis Refracture Prevention clinic, the general Endocrine Clinic (pituitary, thyroid and adrenal disorders), the Metabolic Nutrition (Obesity) Clinic and Transplant Endocrine Clinics.

The Diabetes Service is a Centre of Excellence of the National Association of Diabetes Centres (NADC) in Australia. It provides high-quality, evidenced-based medical care, education and support to people with diabetes in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
