The Allied Health Research Unit conducts clinical trials to assess new treatments and rehabilitation strategies, ensuring they are effective and appropriate to a broad range of patient populations. Working closely with clinicians, the team’s implementation research helps identify and address barriers so that treatment and rehabilitation interventions can be integrated into routine clinical practice to optimise healthcare outcomes.
The Allied Health Research Unit is committed to building research capacity by providing training, mentorship, and collaborative opportunities for clinicians and early-career researchers. Through a range of initiatives, the unit helps enhance the skills of allied health professionals in critically assessing evidence, conducting research, and implementing findings into practice.
The Allied Health Research Unit works closely with healthcare partners within St Vincent’s Health Australia, at other centres and academic institutions (such as Australian Catholic University) and in industry to conduct research focused on delivering high-quality, evidence -based, equitable healthcare, and improving service delivery in allied health.
