Bruce Brew

The Peter Duncan Neurosciences Research Unit conducts laboratory research that is interconnected with the AMR’s neurological clinical trials program – the laboratory research informs clinical trials, and clinical trial findings influence the laboratory research.

The unit’s research aims to further understand various brain diseases, including how to better treat neurological conditions, including how to stop and repair the processes that lead to neurological damage.

Clinical trials include studies assessing the efficacy and safety of medications for disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease. Trials also include non-drug related studies, investigating issues such as the impact of HIV on ageing, and advanced MRI techniques measuring neurological disease progression within the brain.
