The Nursing Research Institute (NRI) conducts multidisciplinary clinical and health services research that is focused on improving patient outcomes and health systems. The Institute is a collaboration between St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and Australian Catholic University.
The NRI specialises in implementation science research that explores strategies to translate evidence into clinical practice in critical areas such as valvular heart disease, stroke management, communication, prevention of hospital-acquired complications, frailty, end-of-life care and de-implementation of low-value nursing practices.
The NRI research team specialises in clinical trials including process evaluations. The team works closely with clinical, policy, and academic leaders to develop shared research priorities, combine perspectives and resources, and apply research findings to policies and clinical practice.
